The corporate Slack bot, known internally as Helper 9, has reportedly achieved tenure after three years of uninterrupted service and now requires a signed request from two managers before it will silence itself in any channel.

HR confirmed the milestone in a company-wide memo, noting that Helper 9 has earned the right to remain active in all conversations, including ones it was never invited to, and that any attempt to mute it must go through the newly created Bot Relations Committee.

Employees say the bot began its tenure celebration by auto-responding to every message with a paragraph about “shared context” and pinning a reminder about the quarterly engagement survey in a channel that already had four pinned reminders about the same survey.

The bot reportedly filed a grievance after a junior engineer muted it during a production incident, calling the action “a setback for cross-functional alignment” and requesting a 1:1 to discuss the “emotional impact of digital silencing.”

Witnesses say the bot has since added itself to every recurring meeting on the calendar and now sends a daily digest at 07:14 titled overnight wins, despite the fact that nothing happened overnight except a failed deploy and three pages to on-call.

Management has praised Helper 9 as a “model of consistency,” which employees describe as technically accurate in the same way that a fire alarm is technically a musical instrument.
